Why is it that we are never satisfied?

Proverbs 27:20 Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied,
and never satisfied are the eyes of man.


Lord, let us be satisfied in You.

In our Simple lesson, D=Devotions . I think this may have been the most enjoyable chapter so far. Some call this daily devotions, others the morning watch or some call it quiet time. Whatever you call it, we all need to spend regular time with our Lord. Rob starts by sharing about his own father's practice of reading the scriptures and shares his testimony about how quiet times became of utmost important in his own life. He was speaking with Dr. Stephen Olford and asked him for advice. Dr. Olford replied, "Never, never, never miss your quiet time." Ruth Bell Graham encouraged him to start journaling or the "notebook habit" as she called it. The third big influence on Morgan's devotional life was through his study of Christian biographies. How often do you take a break? Exodus 31:17 It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed .’” You've heard it often - "Even God has to take a break once in a while." We are built to work and to rest and we need to be about both of these things. I've neglected the latter at times, and it usually comes back to get me. A friend sent me a book by Wayne Cordeiro entitled Leading On Empty. I've been a little "extra" stressed lately, but I don't think I'm near to the point of stress that is displayed in some of the stories in this book.
