Mighty To Save

I had the great privilege of sitting under Dr. T.V. Farris. He wrote a commentary on Isaiah called "Mighty to Save". Verses like these remind me of his love for this book.
Isaiah 35:4 say to those with fearful hearts,
"Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
he will come to save you."

What a great comfort to know that God is in control. That even when we think he is never coming, he is not far away. In this very passage it was prophesied that the mute would speak, and the lame would dance. And these things did happen through Christ.

This passage also reminds us that great days are yet to come...
10 and the ransomed of the LORD will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Praise the Lord that a Remant Will Return!
