Guitar Praise Produces Mixed Reactions
Have you ever played guitar hero, but really didn't like the words of some of the songs, or some of the imagery that filled your screen? Well it looks like there is a new product coming out that will satisfy guitar players who really enjoy Christian music.
I have a few friends who would probably like to take a shot at this game. Unfortunately it's only on PC or MAC, not Xbox or Wii. My guess is this would be a lot more popular on the latter platforms.
But what really caught my attention was the reaction to this game. There are a lot of people out there who think that "Christian Rock" is an oxymoron. They also think that Christian music is not really music at all. You can check out some of the reactions at boingboing and gizmodo. (Let me warn you - many of them are anything but Christian.)
What's your take? Is this like wearing a "cheesy" Christian T-shirt? Is this just another example of Christians "selling out?" Or is this a way for people who like Christian Music to enjoy a fun game without worrying about filling their mind with trashy lyrics and images?
My next question - How do you feel about your youth group or kids playing regular guitar hero? Answer at your own risk.
:)
