Repentance and Rest

Isaiah 30:15 This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says:
"In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it.

The Israelites went to Pharaoh for protection instead of letting the Lord be their shield. The looked for help from man instead of seeking help from God. They didn't need to seek the help of mighty men, but the Almighty God.

In an age of manufacturing all kinds of feeling and religious emotion through whatever means possible, it is refreshing to me to think about finding Salvation through rest. Sometimes I wonder if our American Ambition gets in the way of truly trusting in God.
