Somebody's Gotta Preach

Reading through Romans some more today, and hearing some of the same ideas from the Lord.

Romans 10:14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

Preaching is not always popular. Peace-making brings persecution. I think we have to be careful when some want to minimize "preaching" because we're afraid people don't connect with it. Some might say it is an out-dated mode of connecting with people. While I do believe that creative art and drama and music all can do some "preaching" - it's not the same. I believe there will always be a need for people to proclaim the gospel and make plain the scriptures. Because this is how people come to faith. In this same passage Paul says...
17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

We need people to communicate the truth of the Gospel through their lives and their creativity. But we also still need preachers to go forth and boldy proclaim the word and the WORD.
