My Opinion or God's Will?

I'm really enjoying reading through the Bible in one year through the RSS feed. Right now it combines a couple chapters of Genesis with one from Matthew, a Psalm and some Proverbs. It's amazing how almost each day there will be a theme between different parts of the scripture. It's almost like they were written by the same author. ;)

In today's reading, we see that Abraham's servant has gone to get a wife for Isaac. His prayers are answered. I love the response from Rebekah's Father...
Gen 24:50 Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, “The thing has come from the Lord; we cannot speak to you bad or good. 51 Behold, Rebekah is before you; take her and go, and let her be the wife of your master's son, as the Lord has spoken.”

It's almost as if he's saying - "It really doesn't matter what we think, it is God's will that she go with you so who are we to interfere with what the Lord desires." I think that is an attitude to emulate. "It doesn't really matter what I think, what does God want?"

And then continuing the theme we have those fantastic verses about the Lord's will from Proverbs 3...
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.6 In all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make straight your paths.

Lord, help me to desire your will above all things.
