A Great Epitaph

From Monday's reading this description of Joseph of Arimathea struck out at me...
Luke 23:50 Now there was a man named Joseph, from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council, a good and righteous man, 51 who had not consented to their decision and action; and he was looking for the kingdom of God.

Isn't this something to be said of every true believer - They were seeking the kingdom of God.

Lord, I hope someday that someone will be able to say of me - he was seeking the Kingdom of God.

I may use that "I will not rule over you...but the Lord will rule over you." with my kids. After all isn't that what I want them to see? Every decision I make, every action I require is because I want them to follow God's law, to honor him, and me in the process.

A New Adventure

It's been about 13 years, but my wife and I are moving again. This time we're taking along a couple of kids that we picked up in that last 13. There are tons of emotions, lots to do and very little time to accomplish it all. (Sorry, but the blog has to suffer - it's just not that high on the priority list right now) We are headed to Noblesville, Indiana . We are going to help start a new Free Will Baptist Church on the North East corner of Indianapolis. The name of the church is The Heights . We are so excited about the promise of this new beginning. We are being joined by 3 other families. Kevin and Debbie Scott: Kevin and Debbie went to FWBBC with me and Wendy. They have 3 kids, and are hosting the initial church services in their home. Obama, Abortion & Young Evangelicals

There is a pretty heated discussion over on Tony Jones blog about this very topic. If I understand the commentators correctly... The Obama supporters think that his presidency will actually reduce abortions even though Obama is a strong Freedom of Choice Act supporter. They feel that Bush has done nothing to lower the amount of abortions and that by not developing a stronger economy and by not helping the poor he has contributed to more unwanted pregnancies. The McCain supporters think that McCain will continue to nominate conservative justices and will eventually overturn Roe v. Wade. They believe that Bush has helped the cause by appointing conservative justices and has taken a strong stand on stem cell research. Again, I'll ask a question I asked all the way back in February about Obama and abortion .
