I've had a lot of fun giving away music throughout the year, but what's amazing is how many times no one would take me up on the offer. So with all the money I've saved, I'm going to try giving away two album downloads on iTunes. Of course, as with all giveaways, there is a catch. Here's this one... This giveaway will be a drawing. 1981 - The Worst of Times...

Michael Kruse has been doing a great series on American Social Indicators . In today's post he came up with 1981 as the worst year in the last 50. He has all kinds of science to back up his thoughts, but I found the real reason ... MTV started in 1981 . :) Here's a quote of some of the indicators: The property crime rate hit its high in 1975 but violent crime was at its worst in 1981. The highest murder rate was in 1980. The suicide rate peaked in 1977. The abortion rate peaked in 1981. The divorce rate peaked in 1981. The highest rate for illicit drug use for high school seniors was in 1979, and for illicit drug use excluding marijuana was in 1981. The highest rate of cigarette use for high school seniors was in 1975, and for alcohol was in 1978. The rate for all (combined) sexually transmitted diseases was highest in 1977. Rested and Refreshed

How often do you take a break? Exodus 31:17 It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed .’” You've heard it often - "Even God has to take a break once in a while." We are built to work and to rest and we need to be about both of these things. I've neglected the latter at times, and it usually comes back to get me. A friend sent me a book by Wayne Cordeiro entitled Leading On Empty. I've been a little "extra" stressed lately, but I don't think I'm near to the point of stress that is displayed in some of the stories in this book. And yet, I've found some preventive things in this book that I think will be a huge help in ministry. So if your feeling a little stressed, here's some things to consider: 1.
